Anna Lawrence has worked at the office of Foundation De Nieuwe Kerk and Hermitage Amsterdam, combining research for future exhibitions and translations of press releases, info flyers and web texts from Dutch into English. These translations she produced at incredible speed, but always of high quality. Anna demonstrated a fine understanding of the subtleties of the Dutch language and a good ability to avoid inconsistencies, as well as the capacity to use a very broad English vocabulary. Sometimes her translation inspired us to try to make the Dutch original more poetic, to match it better with the English.

Anna is a great writer. She is the sort of person who's mind is always working to find that perfect word or phrase that takes a sentence from being correct to being beautiful. She takes great pride in her work and it is a pleasure to work with someone so passionate. She takes on both smaller and larger projects with real enthusiasm. Working with Anna on the book RENSSEN was something we would do again in a heartbeat. It is a 320 pg book so working with someone as dedicated and committed as she is was essential to making the book a success. She has a talent for capturing the feeling of a text she translates and bringing that through from Dutch into English. We also used her writing as wall texts for our booth at Art Basel Miami as they get to the essence of Renssen's art and inspiration. Anna has a critical eye and will work with a text or translation until it is just right.
